training philosophy
I approach my work with clients the same way I approach my own training, drawing from the following guiding principles to help you Train For Life.
Exercise can and should be enjoyable. Think about the last time you voluntarily chose to do something you didn’t enjoy. Drawing a blank? Me too. I work to ensure the exercises we do and the programming you receive will challenge you in a way that you find both satisfying and productive. The best workout is the one you will actually perform.
Your workouts should support the things you do in your daily life. There’s no need to overcomplicate the movements you perform. By progressively overloading the muscles you use on a daily basis, you’ll achieve progress that will make everything else you do feel easier. Further, as you evolve, so should your exercise programming. I will always support you in trying new forms of movement that feel good to you.
The person on top of the mountain didn’t fall there. The circumstances of our lives change when we choose to change. I am here to support you in sticking to the positive changes you make to improve your physical wellbeing. In the same vein, I will never push you to take shortcuts, use supplements, encourage you to purchase unnecessary equipment, or ask you to follow dangerous diet plans to achieve faster results.
Safety and sustainability is non-negotiable. Exercise should enable you to be functional in all other aspects of your life. I will ensure you perform all movements with impeccable form. It is my goal to assist you in developing a life-long, restorative relationship with movement.
